Momentum is Building

I'm happy to report the second session of the writing workshop went extremely well. I can sense excitement building as people work through the writing process and compose their own short stories. It has been doubly gratifying to help those who felt simply unable to write. Providing them with the tools necessary to compose a fluent, engaging story that is full of captivating word choice and strong voice makes all the effort worth while. I'm very excited to hear what each person has written in the coming week.

It has been very satisfying to help others with their writing, but I have benefited from leading the workshop as well. I've been reminded of the elements of a good story and have revisited my own manuscripts with a fresh mindset. All too often I often slip into over elaboration and redundant wording, so the refresher was just what I needed. Definitely a 'win-win' situation.

As for other events in my life, I finished my sunflower painting. Similar to leading the writing workshop, I learned a lot about what works and what doesn't work when adding the background. The experience was challenging and instructive, and in the end, I felt satisfied with what I achieved. Though I will never be a professional artist, it gave me confidence to try painting flowers again.

Until next week, I hope you are actively engaged in exploring new and exciting avenues in life, whether it be crocheting, painting, woodworking, or yes, even writing your own story. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain, so give it a try!

Until next week ........
